About Me

A New Steering Wheel

My husband is a frugal person. The two of us are still living in the starter home he purchased before we met nearly twenty years ago. He is driving a truck he bought eighteen years ago. While he still adores his truck, he knows he needs to make some necessary repairs to it in order to keep it running smoothly. For instance, in the near future, he expects to replace the automobile’s motor. He also needs to get the heater in his vehicle fixed. Because the truck is so old, its interior has seen better days. The seats need some new upholstery. And, he is in desperate need of a new steering wheel. I would like to purchase this item for my spouse for the upcoming holidays. On this blog, you will discover the latest trends in steering wheels designed for trucks. Enjoy!

Are You Giving Your Teenager A Pre-Owned Car?

by Kim Murphy

Did your teenager recently get his or her driver's license? Perhaps he or she has had the license for a while, yet he or she has been sharing the family car. It might be that you have come to the conclusion that you need to buy your teenager his or her own car because he or she has gotten a job. Or, your child might be going away to college this fall and will need the car while he or she is away from home.

If you are purchasing a pre-owned vehicle, you are probably counting your blessings that you have found one that is reliable, even though some things need to be repaired. From arranging for audio repair for your teenager's pre-owned car to having the car painted, here are some ideas that might help.

Inside Repairs - With your son or daughter's help, consider going through the inside of the car thoroughly right after you have brought it home. Of course, you drove it already, and you felt sure that it was a safe and reliable vehicle. Yet, you also knew ahead of time that you'd want to make some changes. For example, as you go through the car with your child, he or she might point out that the sound system doesn't work correctly.

Perhaps the sound system isn't functioning properly, and you need to have new amplifiers installed. A car audio repair shop can make the radio work well again. On the other hand, the repair shop might recommend a brand-new sound system. Either way, think of adding a navigation system and a backup camera to the car. The car audio repair shop will more than likely be able to do that, too.

Outside Repairs - Even though the car is in excellent working order, it might need some body repairs. For example, there may be dents and scratches in the paint job. No problem. Those can easily be repaired by professionals who have been trained to detail vehicles. It might even be that the entire car needs to be painted.

Even though that might cost a bit of money, giving your teenager a car that looks great will probably delight both you and your child. Perhaps the paint job is still good, but you want to give it some extra pizzaz. If so, consider adding pinstripes or other details to the car.
