About Me

A New Steering Wheel

My husband is a frugal person. The two of us are still living in the starter home he purchased before we met nearly twenty years ago. He is driving a truck he bought eighteen years ago. While he still adores his truck, he knows he needs to make some necessary repairs to it in order to keep it running smoothly. For instance, in the near future, he expects to replace the automobile’s motor. He also needs to get the heater in his vehicle fixed. Because the truck is so old, its interior has seen better days. The seats need some new upholstery. And, he is in desperate need of a new steering wheel. I would like to purchase this item for my spouse for the upcoming holidays. On this blog, you will discover the latest trends in steering wheels designed for trucks. Enjoy!

Changing The Appearance And Protecting Your Pickup's Truck Bed

by Kim Murphy

If you had just purchased a pickup truck, you will soon be enjoying the benefit of carrying items around in the bed with ease. If you do not care for the appearance of your current truck bed, or if you wish to improve it with a layer of protection, you can use one of the following methods to enhance its features.

Install A Pre-Fabricated Liner

Pre-fabricated truck liners are made from a thick, rigid plastic. They are constructed to slip into the current truck bed, covering the floor and all four interior walls in the process. This is done by a professional as the liner will need to be lined up perfectly without allowing debris or moisture to slip underneath in the process. The liner is bolted into place so it does not shift after it is installed. It provides a smooth floor for easy loading and unloading. This liner will alter the appearance of the truck bed as each curve of the body will no longer be viewed once the plastic covers the metal.

Add Some Protective Color

If you wish to alter the coloring of your truck bed, consider using a roll-on, spray-on, or paint-on lining. These are purchased at an auto parts store and can be applied on your own. Start applying color at the end of the truck bed next to the cab and make your way toward the end. This coloring offers protection as it covers the metal portions of the truck adequately, saving them from scratching or rusting. This is a permanent addition to a truck bed so it is important to make sure you like the coloring before applying it.

Cover It Completely

If you want to enhance your pickup truck's capabilities, adding a cap can be a wise choice. This will give you an enclosed area to house important belongings you do not wish to be exposed to the elements. This is a good choice for those who work as a contractor as their tools can be put into the enclosure and locked up to keep them secure.

Another option is the use of a metal or rubber truck bed cover. This will cover the bed while having a bit of room underneath for storing belongings. It allows you to keep the streamlined look of your truck bed rather than altering the appearance of the bed with the height of a cap. The color can match the truck's exterior paint for a subtle change or a completely different color can be used to give the truck the character of a two-toned appearance. For assistance, talk to a truck bed manufacturer.
